What was Mark Twain trying to teach us about friendship in the novel Adventures Of Huck Finn?

That no matter what, true friends defy all boundaries and preconcieved notions. For example: Huck was taught to not trust black people but he ends up becoming best friends with Jim. Even though he has so much against him, Jim learns to love Huck and even Tom.
