How can i find deleted files?

i was grounded from the comp 4 a month last august or so, and i made a very, very special movie i knew i would *never* lose and always love! my and my freind sat on a skateboard w/ a sled on top and filmed, while later we hit a car. it is treasured by me. well, while i couldnt touch the comp, somehow my saved videos under "my videos" that i edited w/ windows media player" got deleted, but the titles were there and it would play, but nothing would show up, and i would search for the lost file, and it would be gone, they were " .ASF " files. they werent in the recycle bin, and now i am so sad they're gone! please help me to restore the lost files.
