To the older men.....do you agree with this statement? Anyone else welcome to chime in with an opinion...?

I know that you cannot generalize ALL older men. However, my male friend and I were having a conversation about older men and younger women yesterday. At the time, we were discussing a guy that happens to be interested in me at the moment, and I was toying around with the idea of whether or not to give him a chance. The man is significantly older than I am, and is in his forties. The friend I was discussing the situation with, told me that "older men look for young women so they can control and manipulate them." Do most people generally feel this way, or is this just a stereotype because society normally doesn't tend to approve of relationships in which there is a significant difference in age between the two? After all, when you think about it 20's and 40's are not all that much different; a woman can be just as easily manipulated in her 40's, as she can in her 20's.
