Why does he text me all the time but haven't called yet?

I met this guy in Central Park this past week. He is very handsome,tall, outgoing, nice accent, and fun to be around. He had me at hello and both of us had a lot of chemistry. We met at a group picnic and I was talking to my friends. He turned around and started to talk to me and I knew he was trying really hard to impress me by joking about the size of his shoes and about how he has a soft spot for women like me. He comes off as immature in a joking manner. We played soccer and he wanted me on his team. Every time I scored a goal, he would run up to me and hug me maybe like 6 times. He said that he can't help it being around pretty girls. I just laughed. After the picnic, 7 of us went down to Bryant Park to watch the sunset. He was with the group joking around with the boys and I was laughing. He picked a flower from off a bush and gave it to me and said I was sweet. While we were there watching the sunset, he randomly picked me up and twirled me around and I laughed and held onto him. Then we went to a karaoke place with 6 of us and he dedicated a few songs to me and wanted me to sing all night. He said my voice was amazing. He missed his train that night so he could get my number. I stood out close to the tracks and he blocked me and said that he didn't want me to get hurt. He then asked me out on a date this Sunday and said that we would have fun. He has been texting me everyday this week and it's been long conversations but I'm wondering why hasn't he called. He is outgoing around me so I don't think he's shy at all. I think we had amazing chemistry but I don't know. I'm 3 years older than him and we are in our twentys in NYC. Could it be that he's just not that into me? I need some advice.
