Is the start of my first book interesting to read?

To be honest it makes me think of one of those computer games. Rocks = mining, trees = timber, build your settlement near to them so the peasants can carry them to the town hall quickly. In the real world (even if it's a fantasy world) you would be stunningly unlikely to get gold and silver from the same rocks, and wouldn't a water supply and land suitable for farming be more important for a new settlement?
