Iam trying to use a pioneer gm43a amp with an mp3, no head unit etc but can't work out the wires, Help please!

the unit is old and has red and black leads I ume + & -, a yellow lead with 2A fuse, blue lead and a red with white tracer lead. I have tried connecting the red and red/white lead to the +ve but cannot get any output at the speakers. Power is present at the black and red leads at the plug on the unit. The output of the player seems to match the input requirement using the rca leads. What am I doing wrong or is the amp cactus?
